Educational purposes
Doctors who do not meet the general and specific requirements for medical practice (§ 4 Austrian Medical Act 1998), may be granted authorization for engaging in medical activities for educational purposes (§ 35 Austrian Medical Act 1998). Medical activities during the COVID-19 pandemic
The relevant legal exemption provision ceased to be in force as from 30 June 2023. If you have notified a medical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic to the Austrian Medical Chamber before the mentioned date of legislative change, the exercise of this activity will be possible under the legal exemption provision until 31 July 2024.
